I started flying in the UK when I was a student and was recruited into the Bristol University Air Squadron as a Cadet Pilot in the RAF Volunteer Reserve. I flew in Chipmunks and accumulated over 100 hours dual and solo with RAF instructors. The last entry in that log book was in 1960. I did not start flying again until I retired in 1997; I was very patient.
I have enjoyed being a member of EAA 309 since 1994, have made many good friends and have learned a lot in the group. On the basis of experience gained with the chapter RV6 project, I started my own project and completed my Europa XS monowheel in 2001. I now have nearly 800 hours in the plane. The Europa runs fast, lands slow, does not use much gas and does not have bad habits. It takes me to Sun n Fun and Oshkosh in a trouble free fashion. What more could you ask for?
